A few paces immediately below the property is a small partly sandy, mostly pebbly bay known as Butterfly Bay - so called because of the beautiful black butterflies so common in the Spring. Boasting crystal clear water this bathing spot with the shade of an old tree is considered one of the favourites amongst many locals.
A two minute stroll from the property is the Four Seasons beachfront restaurant (one of the finest lunchtime restaurants on the island) and organised beach with sunloungers, umbrellas and refreshments served.
A five minute stroll in the other direction and you are in the small village of Vlichos with its waterside taverna, organised beach and coffee bar.
A thirty five minute walk along the scenic coastal path through picturesque Kamini (with a choice of fish tavernas) to the port (and main town) of Hydra where a generous variety of restaurants, tavernas, bars, cafés and shops can be found.
Alternatively take the shuttle boat for the three minute boat ride to the port, departing every fifteen to thirty minutes during peak season, or call a water-taxi to take you to one of the many beaches in the uninhabited areas of the island.
Time passes at a different pace here and offers adequate opportunity to truly unwind and enjoy a simpler life for a change.
